Bald Knob Public Schools has partnered with ARCare and Save the Children to provide a virtual Summer Boost program to keep students engaged in reading and math throughout the summer break. After a vigorous competition, Jack Byrd participated in the Save the Children's Virtual Summer Boost program. He interacted with staff and completed activities for reading and math. He read dozens of books over the four week period. Great job, Jack!

Reminder: Tomorrow, July 14, we will have a Virtual Academy parent meeting at the High School gymnasium. A presentation for K-5 parents will be from 5:30-6:00PM preceding a presentation for parents of students in grades 6-12 from 6:30-7:00. Face masks will be required to attend the meeting. Pre-registration will look different this upcoming school year. On Wednesday, July 15th from 8:00am-3:00pm & Thursday, July 16th from 8:00am - 7:00pm, families are asked to come and pick up all pre-reg packets at the elementary main office. This process will be similar to how we distributed AMI packets. Completed packets may be returned to the elementary office from July 17th - July 31st from 8:00am - 3:00pm. After all information is entered into the database, families will be notified via FB, school website, and Thrillshare that schedules and class lists are available to access via HAC. At this time, you will be able to request any possible changes. Paper versions of schedules and class placement will be available for pick up if you are unable to access the information electronically.

Earlier this week a survey was sent to families for parents/guardians to provide input regarding students' needs as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.  If you have not already completed the family survey about your students' needs for instruction in the fall, please do so.  Each family who completes the survey will have their family's name placed in a drawing for a prize. Each building will have one family winner. If you have already submitted the survey for your family, your name is already entered in the drawing. The drawing will take place on Monday morning. The Bald Knob School District is grieving today as we come to terms with the loss of one of our elementary school students. Good Afternoon. This is Lisa Moore, H. L. Lubker Elementary Principal. Due to Covid 19, our kindergarten and preschool graduations were not able to be held or rescheduled. In order to celebrate each preschool and kindergarten graduate, the Bald Knob School District has placed our Preschool and Kindergarten graduate signs in the grassy lot on the corner of Pine and Cleveland streets. Please feel free to drive by and/or take pictures. The district will make arrangements to get each child their sign at a later date. Congratulations graduates.

Good afternoon, Bulldogs! This is Melissa Gipson, Superintendent of Bald Knob Schools. Several community members notified the Bald Knob School District Administration about a racially insensitive social media post made by a district employee. The posting was later shared by another Facebook user, which led to other district employees commenting or liking the post. While the district does not believe the employee made the original posting with malicious intent, the posting shows poor judgment, a lack of cultural awareness, and does not reflect the district’s values. This unfortunate incident has offended many people in our community and reflects the need to provide additional diversity/cultural sensitivity and social media training for our staff. These trainings will be conducted before the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The district will take the appropriate steps to address this situation, and use this incident as an opportunity to deepen our conversation on inclusiveness and cultural awareness. I appreciate your support as we grow stronger together through this difficult situation.

Bald Knob Public Schools will be closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. Students will be welcomed back on Monday, March 30, 2020. We encourage you to take the recommendations of the Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Department of Health to heart and honor this time of social distancing. Please reconsider any travel plans that are nonessential. Social distancing will allow our community time to slow the spread of COVID-19.
