Dec 15, 2015 High School

Senior JAG member of the Bald Knob Jobs for Arkansas’ Graduates organization, Lindsey Adkins, recently attended the 2015 JAG Student Leadership Conference held on December 3-5 in Washington, D.C.  In order to qualify to attend the all-expense paid conference, the Bald Knob JAG department met the JAG “5 of 5” criteria, receiving recognition at the summer conference, and Lindsey Adkins won second place in Employability Skills at the JAG State Competition.  Thomas Garner, BKHS principal, Cynthia Adkins, parent and Cheryl Burns, JAG Specialist, attended the conference as well. While in D.C., they attended an awards luncheon honoring JAG Alumni, team building/leadership sessions, and met many other JAG members.  During the conference, Lindsey Adkins competed in the JAG National Employability Skills Event.  Some of the highlights of the trip included visiting the Arlington National Cemetery, all National Monuments, and the Holocaust Museum.  A visit was made to the National Mall and several of the Smithsonian National Museums.  Attendees left the conference energized, empowered, and committed to be leaders in the workforce and communities.
